Demonstrating exceptional determination, discipline, and sporting excellence, Ipsa Tarafder, a Class XII student of Agrasain Balika Siksha Sadan, made her school and country proud by securing a Bronze Medal at the prestigious 15th Silent Knight Karate Cup, held in Malaysia from 15th to 20th April 2026.

The international championship witnessed participation from karate athletes representing 12 countries, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and several others. Competing against some of the finest martial artists from across Asia, Ipsa showcased remarkable skill and resilience to earn a place on the winners' podium.
Speaking about her achievement, Ipsa expressed gratitude but also highlighted her determination to improve further. “I felt happy after winning the medal, but I am not completely satisfied. This competition taught me many valuable lessons, and I will work on my shortcomings. My next goal is to convert this bronze medal into a gold medal,” she said.
Ipsa's journey in karate began nearly 10 years ago under the guidance of her coach, Sensei Rana Sarkar. Inspired by the values of discipline and self-control, she has dedicated herself to rigorous training and currently practices for one to two hours daily. Her consistent efforts and commitment have played a significant role in her success on the international stage.

The young karateka acknowledged the unwavering support of her school, family, and coach throughout her journey. Agrasain Balika Siksha Sadan extended special support by allowing her to attend school two hours later than the regular timing, enabling her to complete her morning training sessions without compromising her studies.
She also credited her family and coach for constantly motivating and encouraging her to pursue her dreams. Their guidance and support helped her remain focused during challenging times.
The road to the international competition was not easy. Ipsa had to successfully clear multiple selection rounds and qualification procedures before earning the opportunity to represent her country at the prestigious event. Her perseverance and hard work ultimately paid off, culminating in an impressive international achievement.
Ipsa Tarafder's success serves as an inspiration to young athletes, proving that dedication, discipline, and determination can help overcome obstacles and achieve excellence. Her accomplishment has brought immense pride to her school, coach, family, and the entire community.
As she continues her journey in martial arts, Ipsa remains focused on achieving even greater success and bringing more laurels to India in the future.
