BREAKING NEWS | ASSAM LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OATH-TAKING CEREMONY HELD IN DISPUR

The newly elected Members of the Assam Legislative Assembly took oath today during a grand ceremony held at the Assembly Hall in Dispur. The proceedings began in the presence of the Pro-tem Speaker, senior government officials, ministers, and leaders from both ruling and opposition parties.

The ceremony started with the National Anthem followed by the official reading of election notifications for all newly elected MLAs. Members were then invited one by one to take oath or affirmation under the Constitution of India.

Several MLAs took oath in Assamese, while others chose Hindi, English, Bengali, and Bodo. Loud desk-thumping and slogan-shouting were witnessed inside the Assembly as senior political leaders entered the House to take oath.

The ruling alliance described the occasion as the beginning of a “new era of development and stability” for Assam. Meanwhile, opposition leaders stated that they would raise issues related to unemployment, flood management, and rising prices during the upcoming Assembly session.

Heavy security arrangements were deployed around the Assam Legislative Assembly complex, with supporters of multiple political parties gathering outside since morning.

Political analysts believe the first Assembly session could witness intense debates over governance, economic policies, and regional development projects.

The election for the new Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly is expected to take place tomorrow.
